Châtel and The Abondance Valley Châtel and The Abondance Valley is a beautiful part of the French Alps and ideal for a summer or winter holiday in the mountains. It’s true that in winter, most visitors come to ski or snowboard although Ski de Fond or Nordic Skiing is also available and easily accessed for those that prefer their day without ski lifts. Snow shoeing is another way to take in the beautiful snow capped mountains at this time of year. Summer activities in Chatel During the summer the activities are more varied – walking and biking are the most popular but rock climbing, watersports & paragliding all take place here too. The location is ideal for those that love to explore – mountain villages and towns in both France and Switzerland are easily accessible and the stunning Lake Geneva / Lac Leman is just 40 minutes away. Daytrips from Chatel Further afield but easily reachable for a daytrip are the famous French towns of Annecy and Chamonix. These iconic towns have plenty to explore. Of course as well as things to do, you may prefer to relax. Chalet Cannelle is quiet and peaceful with great views and plenty of space to take some time to enjoy the mountain air. Get comfy in the lounge by the fire in winter or take a sun longer to a quiet part of the garden in the summer.
