During winter, Chalet Cannelle is a luxury catered ski chalet offering holidays in Chatel, taking care of everything for you while you enjoy the skiing.

It’s not just about arranging the ski essentials like lift passes for you; we strive to make sure that you get the most from your ski holiday here in Chatel. What does that mean? We’ll recommend the ideal instructor to suit your aspirations. We’ll suggest the best ski route for the day so that you find the best pistes. And of course, all the best lunch spots. Having lived here for 10+ years, we are true locals.

Chalet Cannelle is owner run, not just managed. We, Lorraine & Andy, created Chalet Cannelle from scratch and we are your hosts and chefs throughout your stay. We take pride in the consistency of service that we offer, encouraged by our guests that return for the catered ski chalet experience every year.

Family Stays

Chalet Cannelle is well suited to family ski holidays. The kids will love the cosy Moo Mezzanine TV and playroom plus the large private garden is perfect for afternoon sledging and snowman building. We provide a 6pm dinner for the children and can advise on ski schools or private lessons with some fabulous instructors.

Space & Comfort

Instead of packing this beautiful old farmhouse to the rafters with people, we choose instead to offer spacious luxury catered ski holidays for up to 12 people, with a maximum of 10 adults. This ensures there is plenty of space for everyone to socialise by the fire or find a quiet spot to relax.

Just Adults

On select dates, we take bookings by the room. These sociable weeks are great for couples, friends, and solo skiers. They are kid free and provide a fabulous way to meet new friends who ski! There are six comfortable en-suite bedrooms, two of which are available without a single occupancy charge.

Breakfast

We serve breakfast to you everyday, with hot and cold options. Our breakfast selection includes cereals, fresh fruit, bread, homemade jams & yogurts, freshly baked croissants and a cooked option with eggs from our free range hens. A filling and wholesome alpine breakfast to set you up for skiing in the Portes du Soleil ski area.

Afternoon Tea & Relax

We serve afternoon tea and snacks alongside the fire, with floor to ceiling views of the Abondance Valley. A selection of teas and bean-to-cup coffee is available, as well as the included minibar. For a post-ski relax, you can soothe your ski weary legs by soaking in the hot tub surrounded by the mountains.

Dinner

For some of our guests, this is the highlight of their catered ski holiday! The evening starts with an apéritif and canapés by the fire before we serve a four course dinner. We serve a varied menu at Chalet Cannelle all homemade from scratch, accompanied with fine wines that we source ourselves. You can read much more on our dedicated dining page.

All Drinks

A catered stay includes all drinks at the chalet. Help yourself to the minibar, stocked with soft drinks and a selection of beers and wines. Also included are selection of spirits should a Gin & Tonic or a scotch on the rocks be your tipple of choice. For dinner, we choose a different red and white wine to complement each meal.

Piste Transport

The private 8 seater minibus transports you to any of the ski lifts in La Chapelle D'Abondance or Châtel, a choice of 4 different places to start your ski day. Our service gives you the freedom to choose drop off and collection times as well as no queuing for a ski bus, no walking in ski boots and no carrying of the kids skis.

Ski Concierge

Our ski concierge service starts the moment you book your stay, from your Geneva airport transfer to restaurant bookings and everything in-between. We will help you make the right choice for ski lessons or guiding, arrange your ski passes to be ready when you arrive and advise on childcare at the chalet if required.
